We had a great time last night at Book Larder where Lisa led a cooking class! Lisa cooked up some holiday apps and bites, Skip made Sage Martinis for everyone, and I happily took pictures (and had some bites too).
For our cooking class last night, we did a slight variation on the popular Sage Martini we have on the menu at Pomegranate Bistro right now. This version is a bit lighter on the alcohol content, but just a crisp, delicious and wintery! Our version from last night’s class features Seattle’s very own DRY Soda’s Juniper Berry Soda. This cocktail that looks festive and it is light enough to serve with some small bites before the big holiday meal.
Lisa’s Holiday Sage Martini
1 oz. Kettle One vodka
1 oz. Bombay Sapphire gin
½ oz. fresh lemon juice
½ oz. simple syrup
2 oz. DRY Juniper Berry Soda
2 fresh sage leaves
Shake all ingredients in a cocktail shaker vigorously; strain and serve in a chilled martini glass. Float one fresh safe leaf on top.
