This weekend, Lisa & Jonathan celebrate the soft-opening of their “culinary playground”, Pomegranate Bistro, 8 years ago. Lisa opened her first 50-seat restaurant, Southern Accents, in 1983 where old-school Southern dishes were lovingly served up for the Redmond crowd (she was just 23!). With her cousin Ellen, she eventually added catering services to make her business venture profitable, and Lisa Dupar Catering was born.
On June 15, 2005 Pomegranate Bistro officially opened its doors to the public. Just as it did then, the menu changes quarterly to allow for fresh, seasonal fare to inspire flavors from the Northwest, Southern cooking, and ethnic foods from around the world. Jonathan and previous-Pom-Manager-turned-Events-Director Seth have spent years fine-tuning and rotating a wide selection of fine wines spanning almost every continent. And with the addition of POMBAR last Spring, a new focus on inventive craft cocktails has added to the vibrancy of this unassuming little spot in Redmond.
