Seattle Caterer Lisa Dupar Announces Fall Cooking Class & Lecture Series Schedule


Popular Series To Deliver Distinctive Flavors, Recipes and Tips
 
REDMOND, Wash.Chefs Lisa Dupar and Jonathan Zimmer will partner with some of the region’s most celebrated chefs and winemakers during their fall 2008 classes. The classes, which will be held in the Lisa Dupar Catering kitchen in Redmond, Wash., will kick off on October 14, 2008. 
 
  • “Friends, Tapas & Spanish Wine Cooking Class,” October 14, 2008, 6:30pm-9:00pm, $85 per person
 Recipes, tips and stories will be shared by chefs Ernie Pino, Jonathan Zimmer and Lisa Dupar. The chefs will share their favorite tapas recipes while sipping rich and perfectly paired Spanish wines.  Enjoy bites and tastes starting with white sangria, chef Pino’s white gazpacho with malaga grapes, chorizo con vino tinto (chorizo in red wine), puntas vascas con champiñones (basque mushroom toasts), chef Zimmer’s saffron cured sturgeon with seed crackers and ajo cream, and chef Dupar’s Spanish olive oil cakes with warm apples in Spanish brandy syrup.  
 
  • “High Dollar Juice Class,” October 21, 2008, 6:30pm-8:30pm, $85.00 per person
Join grape maven Patricia Gelles, owner of the most sought after grapes in the State of Washington. Her 120-acre Klipsun Vineyard was named one of the top 25 vineyards in the world! Who hasn’t heard of Andrew Will Cellars, DeLille Cellars, Seven Hills Winery, L'Ecole No. 41, Quilceda Creek, Woodward Canyon, Januik Winery, Matthews Cellars, Mark Ryan Winery, DiStefano, and McCrea Cellars. Savor some sips, secrets and treats with Dupar & Co.’s “colorful” viticulturist. Chef Zimmer will be selecting his favorites from Gelles’ vineyard, and opening up and sharing the Dupar cellar, while Gelles speaks about how she has nurtured the most valuable juice in the state! Culinary director, Grover Ramsey will be cooking up fabulously paired bites to accompany the wines. 
 
  • “Holiday Feast Cooking Class,” November 11, 2008, 6:30pm-8:30pm, $85 per person
Cooking holiday dinners always evokes thoughts of close friends and family. In this class, chef Dupar will share her menu for this year's feast of fall greens and tomato Chervil vinaigrette with toasted pumpkin seeds, orange-Muscat cranberry sauce, roasted turkey with glazed leeks, garlic, tomatoes and sage with plate smothering gravy, forest mushroom and fennel sausage dressing, yellow finn and parsnip mash, and sweet potato chiffon pie with pecan crust. 
 
  • Save the Date: November 20, 2008, 6:30pm-9:30pm. Lisa Dupar Catering will host a Women and Wine Winemaker’s Dinner. Lisa will be joined by two of the regions most fabulous female winemakers Anna Schafer of áMaurice Winery and Kay Simon of Chinook Winery. Join Lisa, Anna and Kay for a multiple course wine paired meal. We’ll be releasing the menu soon. Look for details on this one-of-a-kind event on www.duparandcompany.com.
